The guard is the standard unit for any prison. There are many types: Guards, Armed, Riot, Dog Handlers, and the National Guard. All guards help clear fog of war, helping your prison. You can post certain guards in rooms, on patrol routes, or let them roam free.
Guard A normal guard is needed for every prison. It helps clear fog of war, can detain prisoners, and can do multiple jobs. They can be upgraded with stab vests and a taser (with the corresponding Taser Education Program), and comes equipped with a baton. They usually carry jail keys. If a guard needs a new baton, he can go to a weapons rack. They open jail doors for staff and prisoners, and staff doors for prisoners.
Armed guard The armed guard can be very essential to a prison. They are, by default, given a shotgun, which can be very deadly. The armed guard can be upgraded with a taser (no Education Program required), and a stab vest. They usually carry jail keys. They provide an AOE suppression to prisoners. They will not open doors for prisoners or staff, or preform normal jobs like sorting prisoners or taking them to solitary.
Riot guard The riot guard was a beta-version of the armed guard. You used to not be able to use them, but can now be called in from the emergency tab. The riot guard is armed with a baton, and a riot shield to protect himself.
Dog handlers Dog handlers are good for managing tunnels. They sniff out the tunnels, and then the dog handler puts down a yellow flag indicating it. They can also detect smelly contraband. making them ideal for being outside of infirmaries, cleaning closets and yard/visitation where prisoners can be given or thrown contraband. They will not open doors for prisoners or staff, or preform normal jobs like sorting prisoners or taking them to solitary.
