The prison is what the game is based around its the facility you build to keep your prisoners locked up and their needs satisfied.

A few tips for beginners in Prison Architect:

You can focus on reabilitation or punishment, but you can't do both: if you chose punishment, you'll probably often send people to solitary confinement or lockdown, making prisoners suppressed and consequently making them not to be interrested in reform programs, wich would be your main objective if you choose to rehabilitate.

If you wish to satisfy the prisoner's needs, you should research in bureocracy:

-Grounds keeping (environment)

-Prison labor (laundry & clothing )

A prison is a building for the confinement of people held while either awaiting trial or people sentenced after conviction, and is what Prison Architect is based on.

A prison is a building for the confinement of people held while either awaiting trial or people sentenced after conviction, and is what Prison Architect is based on.

The main goal of prisons is to hold prisoners' during their sentence, although the sub-goal of any prison is to rehabilitate them through ways such as spiritual guidance, behaviour therapy, and by stopping the prisoners' use of alcohol and drugs. Prisoners in prisons also have the choice to work in order to make them money, but also put a tick on their parole hearing which could lead them to be released early.

Within a prison, each prisoner must have their needs attended to otherwise much like in-game they will end up causing problems, and the sub-goal of their rehabilitation cannot be possible. They require needs such as being able to see their loved ones, being able to keep clean, eating correctly.
